Our reason for being…..

Growing older brings about important changes in the way we live our lives. Some of these changes, such as ill health and physical limitations, may result in having to depend on others. Such life changes may be overwhelming and result in loneliness, isolation, poverty, health problems and/or depression.

David, who is 87 years old, has experienced some of these changes. David lives alone and can no longer drive, walk or cook for himself. Like many other older people, David wants to stay in his home, surrounded by familiar sights, sounds and memories. But he needs assistance to do so. And that is where the Adult Resource Alliance can help.

The organization is committed to understanding the ever-changing and diverse needs of older adults and to preserving their dignity while working to remove barriers associated with aging.

Our services focus primarily on seniors who are “at-risk” of premature institutionalization due to old age, chronic illness, poverty, isolation and inadequate nutrition. These seniors are one of the County’s most vulnerable populations. Services are also available to seniors who wish to become involved in their communities.
