The Adult Resource Alliance (ARA), like many organizations has been faced with some very difficult decisions over the last few days. The population identified as the most at risk due to the COVID virus is the population served by ARA, those over 60 who may have underlining medical concerns. Although the risk of exposure is still low, the potential impact could be devastating. For that reason, ARA will be taking a number of steps to help protect the health of many seniors we serve.
Meals on Wheels deliveries will continue as scheduled. Participants will be updated on any changes in delivery procedures or options as appropriate.
Congregate meals service is suspended until April 1st. This will impact all 11 sites throughout Yellowstone County. We will be offering the option of frozen meals to be picked up at 1505 Avenue D, 935 Lake Elmo Drive, and the Laurel Senior Center ; Monday-Friday, 11:00-1:00. Limit 5 per person while supplies last.
All group activities and educational programs are postponed until further notice. ARA will be maintaining office hours from 8:00- 3:00 Monday thru Friday to have staff available to answer questions. Please call 259-9666 for information.
Participants with individual appointments will be contacted by ARA staff to make alternative arrangements to address their needs.
ARA volunteers who are not involved in our nutritional programs are urged to contact the AVP staff for information on their volunteer service area, 245-6177.
We will continue to make every effort to communicate our plans as we work through this challenging time.
